A building boom with a purpose

Each project here grows out of a national plan, so they arrive with airports, hotels and new neighborhoods around them. We check announced dates against official and reliable sources and update this page as timelines change. Where a date has not been confirmed, we say so.

Where to stay

Where to stay and invest near the new icons

Many of these landmarks sit beside established resort areas. Stay among the theme parks on Yas Island or by the museums on Saadiyat Island. For property, see investing near the new landmarks.

Already open and worth the trip

Not everything here is in the future. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi already form a cultural cluster on Saadiyat. Dubai's Museum of the Future, Riyadh's Boulevard districts and the first Red Sea Global resorts are all welcoming guests now.

The pace of openings means a return visit always shows something new. A traveler who came to Abu Dhabi five years ago would now find two new national museums; one who returns in 2027 will find the Guggenheim open and the Wynn tower on Ras Al Khaimah's skyline.

How we label dates

"Open" means we have confirmed the place is operating. "Opening" plus a year means the developer or government has publicly announced that year. "To be confirmed" means no official date has been set, even if one has been reported in the press. We revisit these labels regularly.

For the region's long-range events calendar, including Expo 2030 Riyadh and the 2034 FIFA World Cup, see the events calendar.
