Events Calendar
Middle East events in 2029 follow the region's now-familiar rhythm: Formula 1 under lights, winter art fairs, Riyadh Season and the odd-year biennales. Qatar and Abu Dhabi add world championships in volleyball and track cycling, and the host of the 2036 Olympics, with Doha and Istanbul both interested, is expected to be chosen in mid‑2029.

Middle East events 2029
For 2029, few organizers have published dates, so this page lists the recurring calendar by month. Events that return every year (or every other year) are labeled Expected; one-off events and anything whose contract or venue is not yet settled are labeled To be confirmed. Ramadan falls roughly from mid-January to mid-February, so the Gulf's winter golf, tennis and racing dates may sit around it.
Fixed national days are labeled Confirmed. Islamic holidays are approximate and follow the moon. For the full fourteen-year view, see the Middle East events calendar, and for a complete list of holiday dates, holidays and national days.

Months for recurring events follow their usual pattern; confirm dates with organizers before booking.

Biggest events of 2029
Three world titles in the Gulf. Qatar is due to host the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship and the FIFA Arab Cup, and Abu Dhabi the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Dates for all three are to be confirmed. Stay in Doha or Lusail, or on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
The 2036 Olympic decision. Doha and Istanbul are both bidding for the 2036 Summer Games, and the IOC expects to choose the host at its Session in mid-2029. Whatever the outcome, it will shape the next decade of building in the winning city.
The odd-year art circuit. The Sharjah Biennial (January to June), the Istanbul Biennial (autumn) and the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah (from November) are all expected, along with the Dubai Airshow in November. See art galleries and auction houses.
Formula 1. All five regional races remain under contract in 2029; dates follow the official calendar. Read the Formula 1 Middle East guide.
